There are many taxis at the airport which offer a good, clean, reliable service. They will charge Rs700 from the airport to Ghatswood and the journey will take 25 minutes. If you would prefer a prepaid taxi to collect you from the airport and hold up a sign with your name, you will need to forward your flight details and it will cost Rs900.
You will find a host of recommended restaurants, shops, markets, dentists, opticians etc provided for you in your apartment on arrival. Each of them have been personally tried and tested and have their good points and drawbacks accordingly mentioned.
Colva is situated 2 km North of Senabatim. Benaulim beach is 600 metres south of Sernabatim Beach. It is dotted with beach shacks and restaurants whose décor is basic but the food is good. The general rule is ‘When in Rome…’ The fish curries, tandoories, shellfish etc are superb. Order lapin fricassee or a rib of roast beef and you’re asking for trouble.
Buses to Panjim and Mapusa are frequent from Margao, which is 4km away. Buses to Margao are just a hop, skip and a jump away. A rickshaw to Margao will cost Rs150 and a taxi about Rs400
